Coeur à coeur campaign collects over 4.3 million francs for children

The Coeur à Coeur campaign in French-speaking Switzerland raised over 4.3 million francs in the week just ended. The donations are intended to benefit children and young people who have no access to education.
The campaign was organized by RTS radio and television in French-speaking Switzerland, Swiss Solidarity and a large number of regional radio stations. Since December 16, 125 personalities in seven French-speaking Swiss cantons have taken to the microphone of the mobile studio to support the campaign, as RTS and Swiss Solidarity announced on Friday.
The 8th edition ended on Friday at 7 p.m. in Delsberg JU. "The solidarity was extraordinary," said Pierre Genoud, head of the campaign, in the press release. In view of the current uncertain situation, the public has mobilized beyond our expectations.
In the previous year, almost 1.7 million francs were donated. At that time, the donations went to children who had been victims of abuse or were growing up in difficult family circumstances. These donations were used to support almost 20 institutions in Switzerland that work to protect children.
