Company formations reach record level for April

More companies were founded in April 2024 than ever before in this month of the year. The number of new companies was 4596, an increase of 6% compared to the previous month.
Compared to the same month last year, as many as 23 percent more new companies were added to the commercial register, as the online portal Help.ch reported on Tuesday. This development contrasts with the usual trend of the past five years, in which the second quarter typically began with a decline.
Meanwhile, company deletions remained almost stable in April, with the number of 2645 deletions only 0.2% below the previous month. Compared to the previous year, however, there was a significant increase of 20 percent.
