Complete Zuger Federal House Delegation Re-elected

In the canton of Zug, the two incumbent bürgerliche (conservative) Ständeräte (cantonal councillors) were re-elected on Sunday, as well as the existing Nationalrat (National Council) trio of SVP, Mitte and ALG. The FDP failed to reclaim the seat they had lost to ALG four years ago. Mitte-Präsident Gerhard Pfister received the most personal votes with 16,522, followed by SVP-Fraktionschef Thomas Aeschi with 15,196 and Manuela Weichelt of ALG with 7,609. The turnout was 53.1%.

The Ständeräte election saw Peter Hegglin of Mitte and Matthias Michel of FDP re-elected with 23,077 and 22,673 votes respectively, surpassing the absolute majority of 19,377. SVP's Thomas Werner received 9,939 votes, while GLP-Quereinsteigerin Kim Weber received 5,202, parteilos Komiker Marco Rima 3,941, Stefan Thöni of Parat 1,492, Adi Hadodo of Aufrecht 1,029 and René Zimmermann of Aufrecht 1,025. The turnout was 54.75%.
