Employees of a construction company found a skull during demolition work in Zurich's district 4 on Tuesday. The city police and the forensic institute then came across more skeletal remains in the rubble.

Initial investigations at the scene revealed that they were human remains, as the Zurich city police announced on Friday. The bone fragments have not yet been identified. They were handed over to the Institute of Forensic Medicine for further investigation.

The city police and the Zurich Forensic Institute are now trying to find out how the skeleton parts got there. The police were unable to provide any information on the age of the bones when asked.
