The fourth day of the trial into the Jestetten (D) homicide began on Tuesday at the German district court in Waldshut-Tiengen. As the defendant remains stubbornly silent, it is still unclear what exactly happened on the banks of the Rhine on June 8 last year.

A police officer who was searching for evidence near the crime scene after the crime testified in court on Tuesday. Among other things, he found a T-shirt with a striking lion motif. The court has various photos showing the accused wearing an identical T-shirt.

Next on the agenda is the questioning of the DNA expert in the case. Among other things, she will answer questions about various traces of DNA that were found. For example, traces of the accused were found on the murder weapon, a massive log.

A DNA trace of the accused found on the penis of the victim, a 31-year-old man from the canton of St. Gallen, is also puzzling. The man was found on the banks of the Rhine with his pants pulled down.
