The takeover of Bank Credit Suisse in March and the election Sunday in October 2023 were of interest to the Swiss population: Over 850,000 and 810,000 people respectively watched the corresponding "Tagesschau" evening program on Swiss radio SRF. By comparison, an average of around 580,000 people watched the information program.

This was announced by Swiss Radio and Television SRF on Friday. The market share of all SRF TV stations and programs (SRF 1, SRF two SRF Info, all day) amounted to 30.4 percent in 2023. In the previous year, it was 33.4 percent. At that time, however, there were a number of major sporting events such as the World Cup, European Championships and Olympic Games. The market share of SRF radio stations (SRF 1, SRF 2 Kultur, SRF 3, SRF 4 News, SRF Musikwelle and SRF Virus) amounted to 52.3% (3.8 million) in 2023. This is the same as the previous year.

According to the press release, the premiere of the SRF series "Davos 1917", the third season of "Tschugger" and "Donnschtig-Jass" attracted a lot of attention last year. With an average of almost 500,000 viewers, "Donnschtig-Jass" even experienced a record year since 2013. The historical spy series "Davos 1917" recorded an average of 541,000 viewers per episode live or time-shifted on TV, while the figure for "Tschugger" was 332,000. In both cases, there were also consumers on online and streaming platforms.

In sport, the largest number of spectators tuned in to the World Ski Championships in Courchevel and Méribel. Around 736,000 people tuned in to watch Marco Odermatt win gold in the downhill. The women's downhill of the World Championships with the eventual winner Jasmine Flury and third-placed Corinne Suter was watched by 619,000 people.
