Drastic drop in temperature to normal April levels

The weather has drastically corrected its run into summery climes. On the northern side of the Alps, temperatures dropped by 15 to 20 degrees within a day by Wednesday. Wednesday will be rather cool at 11 degrees, but at a normal April level.
The morning temperatures were a chilly 5 degrees across the board. The snow line dropped to 1200 meters above sea level, according to MeteoSwiss, the Federal Office of Meteorology and Climatology. The zero degree line was at 1400 meters. "You don't see a drop in temperature like this every day", MeteoSwiss summed up on X.
SRF Meteo measured five centimetres of fresh snow in Davos GR in the morning. In Bivio GR at 1856 meters above sea level, 25 centimetres of snow fell, Arosa GR (1878 m) 23, Zermatt VS (1538 m) 17 and Andermatt UR (1435 m) 13 centimetres.
The first weekend in April brought the first days of summer and broke numerous temperature records. Basel registered 28.8 degrees on Saturday.
After the drop in temperatures, milder temperatures are in sight again from Thursday. On Thursday afternoon, the thermometer is expected to rise to 17 degrees and by the weekend to 25 degrees, the limit for a summer's day.
