Employers’ association wants rapid negotiations with the EU

The Swiss Employers' Association welcomes the draft negotiating mandate. It calls on the Federal Council to start negotiations with the EU quickly and to negotiate hard.
Orderly relations with Switzerland's most important trading partner are of great importance for Switzerland, the association wrote in a statement on Friday. Further delays would be "painful" for the Swiss economy.
The employers would work to ensure that the current level of wage protection could be maintained. On the other hand, the employers reject the "highly damaging demands" for the economy, such as the easier declaration of general applicability of collective employment contracts or national minimum wages. These have nothing to do with the negotiations with the EU.
