The Employers' Association, Economiesuisse and Swissmem expressly welcome the new agreements between Switzerland and the EU. The conclusion of the negotiations for Bilaterals III marks an important step towards securing this proven path in the long term, according to the employers' association.
For the Swiss economy, it is crucial that the bilateral path can be stabilized and continued, writes the umbrella organization Economiesuisse. It takes positive note of the fact that, according to the Federal Council, Switzerland has achieved the goals set out in the negotiating mandate.
According to the Swiss Employers' Association, it is crucial for employers to put the relationship between the EU and Switzerland back on a more stable footing and thus ensure planning security. The outcome of the negotiations and the implementation of domestic policy will be examined in depth as soon as both are available.
Switzerland currently enjoys economic prosperity thanks to its good access to the EU single market and successful bilateral relations. In terms of wage protection, the three-stage protection concept that has been developed will enable Switzerland to maintain its specific protection mechanisms in the future, the employers' association notes.
The industry association Swissmem writes that the Common Understanding on the Bilaterals III was already a good basis. Further improvements were achieved in the negotiations. At first glance, the important agreement appears to be advantageous for Switzerland. Swissmem will now analyze the result and is expected to make an assessment at the board meeting at the end of February.
