EU parliamentarians welcome Switzerland-EU agreement

EU parliamentarians have welcomed the conclusion of negotiations between Switzerland and the EU. This is an important milestone for the further development and deepening of the already close relations between the EU and Switzerland.
The European Parliament will now carefully analyze the text of the agreements and conduct a comprehensive, balanced and future-oriented debate, wrote German CDU politicians David McAllister and Andreas Schwab and French MEP Chrisophe Grudler, who belongs to the centrist Mouvement démocrate of French Prime Minister François Bayrou, in a joint statement on Friday. The three MEPs play a leading role in relations with Switzerland in the European Parliament.
Parliament will have to approve the agreement with Switzerland, the statement continued. This is the rule for international agreements so that they can enter into force.
