Eurovision Sonst Contest destroys “divine order” according to EDU

The party president of the Federal Democratic Union (EDU) Daniel Frischknecht sees the "divine order" endangered by the planned staging of the Eurovision Song Contest (ESC) in Basel. Frischknecht said this in an interview with the NZZ on Wednesday.
Over the past 15 years, the ESC has become a propaganda platform for homosexuals and non-binary people, said the president of the EDU. The former Thurgau cantonal councillor described the event as an "attempt at brainwashing, in which Swiss television is at the forefront."
"The ESC is an accelerant for such attempts to silence dissenters." Ultimately, the aim is to "destroy the divine order and replace it with a new order", said Frischknecht.
Plan B if the referendum doesn't work out
Frischknecht also criticized Nemo's performance in Malmö last May. The fact that Nemo was given a crown of thorns at the end was not a performance, but "blasphemy".
The canton of Basel-Stadt has allocated CHF 37.5 million to host the ESC. The EDU is collecting signatures for a referendum against this loan, which will be submitted on Saturday, according to the party. "If we are not successful with our referendum, we will take action against the waste of SRF fee money for this event," Frischknecht continued.
