Two fake policewomen have been arrested in the canton of Vaud. They are suspected of stealing large sums of money from elderly people.
The two French women, aged 19 and 22, who were passing through Switzerland, admitted to the crime, as the Vaud cantonal police announced on Thursday. They were arrested in Moudon and Morges VD on September 16 and 17 following reports from their victims.
In recent months, there has been an increase in such fraud attempts in Switzerland. The police warn that older people are being targeted by fraudsters. They also point out that bank cards, bank details and other valuables should never be handed over to strangers.
