The Jura FDP section has decided to vote against the initiative for a 13th AHV pension on March 3, thereby deviating from the national party's slogan. This was decided by a clear majority at the party meeting in Miécourt on Wednesday evening.

The discussion surrounding the referendum proposal was lively. The idea of granting all pensioners a supplementary pension appealed to those who are sensitive to the problems faced by pensioners, the FDP Jura announced on Thursday.

In the end, the majority of the 50 or so members present decided to vote against the motion. This means that the Jura section of the Free Democrats has stepped out of line. At its delegates' meeting on January 20, the FDP Switzerland very clearly rejected the pension initiative submitted by the Swiss Federation of Trade Unions.
