Federal Councillor Rösti ready for “round table” with telecoms industry

Federal Councillor Albert Rösti is ready for a "round table" with the telecommunications industry in the dispute over the emergency power supply. "I would be happy to accept your suggestions for a 'round table'," said Rösti to the industry representatives present at an event in Bern on Tuesday.
"We cannot do without securing emergency calls in a power shortage situation. We need to equip our telecoms infrastructure for this. But how we do this, how high the level is, is something I would like to discuss together with all those affected at a 'round table'," said the Communications Minister in his opening speech at the Swiss Telecommunication Summit of the telecoms association Asut.
He will initiate such a process. "And I am sure that together we will find a solution that is proportionate in terms of costs, but useful for maintaining services in an electricity shortage situation," said Rösti. "I promise you that we will have this round table before we legislate."
