For the Greens, the agreement opens the way out of the impasse

The Greens are "very pleased" about the conclusion of the negotiations. "The EU agreement is of great strategic importance for our country," they said in a statement on Friday. The agreement guarantees stable and good relations, from which both Switzerland and the EU benefit.
The Greens expect the Federal Council to "confidently represent the outcome of the negotiations and enact the necessary accompanying measures, including those on wage protection". They are calling on the Federal Council to present the individual negotiation packages to Parliament swiftly, according to the statement.
The agreement "finally opens the way out of the impasse" and halts the disintegration of bilateral relations. It is a liberating blow for Switzerland as a location for science and business.
The party called for the Federal Council to show backbone and defend its EU agreement, including against the SVP, "which is already calling for a mandatory referendum".
