Former US First Lady Hillary Clinton at politicians’ meeting in Lugano

Former US Secretary of State and presidential wife Hillary Clinton has traveled to Switzerland for a politicians' meeting. On Saturday, the 77-year-old was spotted in the city center of Lugano, as seen on TV footage from Ticino television station RSI.
Clinton was walking in an alley in the city center and visited an osteria, among other places. She was accompanied by numerous security forces, among others.
According to information from RSI, Clinton was at a conference organized by the US think tank Aspen Institute and supported by the Clinton family. According to the report, former Israeli foreign minister Tzipi Livini and former EU foreign policy chief Federica Mogherini were also present at the meeting.
When asked by a journalist how she liked Switzerland, the Democrat and former US presidential candidate replied: "I love it."
Clinton is married to former US President Bill Clinton. From 2009 to 2013, she was US Secretary of State in the government of then President Barack Obama (63). In 2016, she ran for president herself, but was defeated by Republican Donald Trump.
Hillary Clinton has visited Switzerland several times in the past, both as a Senator (2001-2009) and as First Lady (1993-2001) and Secretary of State of the United States (2009-2013). She attended the World Economic Forum in Davos GR on various occasions. As First Lady, she also visited the Lucerne Children's Parliament and the St. Gallen Abbey Library, among others.
