Four suspected robbers arrested in Ticino

Four men have been arrested in Ticino for robbing petrol stations. A weapon was found during a search of their car.
A 60-year-old, a 42-year-old, a 33-year-old and a 31-year-old Ecuadorian living in Italy were arrested on Thursday, the public prosecutor's office of the Canton of Ticino, the Ticino cantonal police and the Federal Office for Customs and Border Protection announced on Saturday.
They are suspected of having committed at least two robberies at petrol stations in Ticino. They were stopped when entering Switzerland in Novazzano TI. A weapon was found during a search of their car. They are suspected of robbery, preparation of a robbery, violation of the Weapons Act, violation of the Aliens Act, forgery of documents, driving without a permit and misuse of license plates, according to the statement.
