Elisa Liepsch is taking over the management of the Belluard Bollwerk festival in Fribourg for the 2025-2027 editions. She was able to convince the festival association of her artistic project, as the association announced on Tuesday.
Elisa Liepsch will take up her post in October, as announced by the Belluard Bollwerk International association. The dramaturge succeeds Laurence Wagner, who has programmed five editions of the festival.
"The Belluard Bollwerk has a long history of courageous art forms and radical aesthetics. In this spirit, I would like to further develop the festival as a place of artistic research, shared learning and transformation," the new director is quoted as saying in a press release.
Liepsch was a dramaturge and curator for the performing arts in Germany and Belgium for 15 years.
The 42nd edition of the Belluard-Bollwerk Festival of Contemporary Art will take place from June 26 to July 5, 2025.
