GLP President promotes rapprochement with the EU

20 years after the founding of the first cantonal section in Zurich, GLP President Jürg Grossen believes that the Green Liberals still have their unique selling points. The GLP is the only party that is 100 percent behind a new agreement with the EU.
"It is crystal clear that we want and must have stable long-term relations with our closest neighbors," said the Bernese National Councillor at the party's delegates' meeting in Rüschlikon, Zurich, on Saturday. He accused the trade unions and the SVP of making a mockery of European policy.
When it comes to energy policy, no one can ignore the GLP, says Grossen: "We are the ones who are 100% in favor of the energy transition - without dreaming of new nuclear power plants or shaking up the hydropower compromise."
At the meeting, the Green Liberals celebrated the 20th anniversary of the founding of the Zurich cantonal party. The agenda also included adopting a position on the two proposals on tenancy law that will be voted on by the people and cantons on November 24.
