Good Luck Chain Supports La Chaux-de-Fonds with 200,000 Francs

The Glückskette has provided 200,000 Swiss francs to support the people of La Chaux-de-Fonds who were most affected by the devastating storm on July 24th. This decision was based on an intensive exchange with local authorities and a visit to the region. The local authorities will be responsible for organising the help, and the Glückskette will continue to monitor the situation in the coming weeks and months. The storm resulted in one death and 40 injuries, and almost two-thirds of the building stock was damaged, with the city parks being 90% or totally destroyed. The estimated damage to buildings alone is up to 90 million francs. The Glückskette's help is supplementary to public services, insurance and other institutions, and is intended to fill any gaps in the system.nnnnnnnnnn
