Green co-chairmanship conceivable for Basel National Councillor Sibel Arslan

Basel National Councillor Sibel Arslan has not ruled out running for co-presidency of the Green Party. However, she still wants to think about it. Arslan told the Keystone-SDA news agency on Wednesday that she could imagine holding the office together with Geneva National Councillor Nicolas Walder.
Following the resignation of party president Balthasar Glättli, Walder announced that he would be available as his successor. He would prefer to hold this office as co-president with Arslan, as he explained.
Arslan said on request that she knows and appreciates Walder from her work on the committee. First, she would have to analyze the initial situation together with the party and then consider the matter.
The decision on the new party leadership will be made by the Green Party delegates at their meeting on April 6, 2024.
