Guest sector remains closed for FC Basel’s next match in Sion

The riots before FC Basel's away match against FC Sion at the end of August have consequences. At the next match between the two teams in Sion, the guest sector will be closed to Basel fans.
The Conference of Cantonal Justice and Police Directors (KKJPD) announced on Wednesday that no tickets for the Tourbillon Stadium would be sold to Basel fans.
According to the press release, FC Basel should prevent its fans from traveling to Sion for this match. The Basel supporters will also be under "close observation" until the winter break, it added. Should further incidents occur, the home sector in Basel will be closed for one of the next matches.
Before the championship match between FC Sion and FC Basel on August 31, groups of football supporters came to blows in the center of Sion. An 18-year-old Swiss man suffered minor injuries and had to be taken to hospital.
It is now certain that the aggression was provoked by Basel supporters, according to the KKJPD press release.
