In Zurich, around 300 people demonstrated against the war in Ukraine on the second anniversary. The authorized demonstration on Saturday was called by the Movement for Socialism.

The demonstrators gathered at the National Museum and marched peacefully through the city center. Traffic was disrupted in Bahnhofstrasse, among other places.

Several speeches denounced the Russian regime as imperialist and called for solidarity with the Ukrainian workers. Chants of solidarity with Palestine were also heard.

Left-wing Ukrainian organizations and the Group for a Switzerland without an Army (Gsoa) also took part in the demonstration, which ended at Helvetiaplatz.

In the evening, the city of Zurich and the national churches will also hold a commemorative event.
