Hurricane “Fredrico” subsides – 171 km/h on the Säntis

Storm "Frederico" caused quite a storm in the mountains: According to SRF Meteo, a wind speed of 171 km/h was measured on the Säntis on Friday night. "Frederico" subsided during the night, as the weather service reported at around 3.30 am.

Frederico" also blew hard in populated areas: 99 km/h were measured in Steckborn TG, for example, according to SRF Meteo on X, formerly Twitter. Le Bouveret VS recorded 98 km/h and Einsiedeln SZ 97 km/h.

According to the weather service, there were local road closures. According to Alertswiss, some municipalities in the canton of Schaffhausen briefly lost power due to the storm on Friday night.
