Ikea Switzerland increases minimum wage

The furniture store chain Ikea Switzerland is increasing the minimum wage. According to a press release on Wednesday, employees in sales, catering and logistics will benefit the most.
Specifically, the minimum wage will rise from CHF 4,000 to 4,300 as of January 1, 2025, even for employees without vocational training. The furniture store chain is thus increasing the minimum wage by 7.5 percent.
According to the company, it employs over 3,500 people in Switzerland. A third of them have worked for the furniture chain for ten years or more.
