Kayaker goes missing in Ticino

Since Thursday afternoon, a kayaker has been missing in Ticino who was traveling on the Melezza River. The Ticino cantonal police launched a search operation.
As they announced on Thursday evening, local police from Ascona and emergency services from Locarnese and Valli (Salva) are also searching for the man. The air rescue service is also on duty. The search operation is still underway and has so far been unsuccessful.
The missing person report came from the village of Palagnedra, part of the municipality of Centovalli.
