The Kirchner Museum Davos has the opportunity to bring the Ulmberg art collection to the Alpine town on a permanent basis. The museum wants to build an extension for this purpose. An exhibition in the existing museum is already showing key works from the important private collection.
The museum promises a "top-class collection of masterpieces of classical modernism and contemporary art", as it announced on the occasion of the exhibition. The show "New Masterpieces. Ulmberg Collection" from October 13 to January 3 combines outstanding works of art from the private collection with individual works from the museum's holdings.
According to the exhibition organizers, in addition to Ernst Ludwig Kirchner's paintings, the exhibition focuses on other "masterpieces of Expressionism, Classical Modernism and the art of the second half of the 20th century". Works by Lyonel Feininger and Max Beckmann, for example, are on display - big names in modern art.
