Large-scale operation at Chur school after amok threat

On Thursday morning, the cantonal police of Graubünden were called out to a school in Chur to deal with an amok threat. However, they were able to give the all-clear at midday. The teachers now want to work through the incident with the schoolchildren.

The report of the amok threat was received shortly before 8 a.m., the cantonal police wrote in a statement on Thursday afternoon. The words "Amoklauf 21.03.24" were discovered in a school toilet.

The police then cordoned off the area around the Giacometti school building and searched the people present, including all 340 pupils. They had to remain in their classrooms during this time.

According to the police, the parents of the schoolchildren were kept informed. A meeting point had also been set up for them. At midday, the emergency services finally issued a warning. Classes were able to resume on Thursday afternoon.
