Light festival in Murten attracts over 60,000 visitors

The eighth edition of the Light Festival in Murten FR attracted over 63,000 visitors to Lake Murten. That was around a quarter more than the previous year, the organizers announced on Sunday. The visitors came from all over Switzerland.
According to the organizers, the 12-day event benefited from mild weather with little rain and wind. In particular, the well-attended second week of the festival with a sold-out Saturday ensured a successful edition of the light festival, according to the organizers. However, they did not break the visitor record of 90,000 set in 2020.
More than twenty installations by national and international artists were exhibited in Murten from January 17 to 28. 300 volunteers were involved in the event. The next edition of the Murten Light Festival is planned for January 15 to 26, 2025.
