Lonza has filled the vacancy at the top of the Executive Committee. Wolfgang Wienand, the former Siegfried CEO, will become the new CEO from summer 2024, as Lonza announced on Tuesday.

He will leave Siegfried at the end of April after 14 years with the company, as the pharmaceutical supplier announced the same day. Siegfried CFO Reto Suter will lead the company ad interim from May.

Albert Baehny, the current head of ad-interim at Lonza, will step down from his position in the summer and leave the company, Lonza announced on Tuesday. Baehny has held the position since October 2023, when former CEO Pierre-Alain Ruffieux stepped down. The former Roche manager took over the reins at Lonza in November 2020.

At Lonza, the CEOs have been in and out of office over the past five years: Long-time CEO Richard Ridinger left at the beginning of 2019, Marc Funk only nine months later and Pierre-Alain Ruffieux stayed in office for just under three years. Chairman Baehny acted as interim solution twice.
