Man arrested for allegedly killing a woman in Chiasso

A 49-year-old man from Sri Lanka has been arrested in Bergamo, Italy. He is accused of being involved in the killing of his sister-in-law in Chiasso TI.
The Federal Office of Justice has sent an extradition request to Italy, the information officer told the Keystone-SDA news agency on Wednesday.
According to the Italian news agency Ansa, the man was the subject of an international arrest warrant for the murder. The 49-year-old, who recently acquired Italian citizenship, had killed his wife together with his brother. He was arrested and taken to the Bergamo district prison.
The Ticino cantonal police arrested the 44-year-old brother-in-law of the man arrested in Italy at the beginning of October for the alleged murder of his wife. According to the Ticino public prosecutor's office, the woman's body was discovered in Chiasso in mid-September.
