An 87-year-old man was fatally injured in a hunting accident in Curtilles VD last Friday. Initial investigations suggest that he sustained a gunshot wound to the groin area for unknown reasons during a hunting expedition. Despite the first aid provided by other hunters and later by the police, the Swiss man died at the scene of the accident, according to the Waadt Cantonal Police. The public prosecutor has launched a criminal investigation to determine the exact circumstances and causes of the accident. This is not the first accident in this year's hunting season in Switzerland. At the beginning of September, a 42-year-old hunter was found dead in the Averstal near Innerferrera GR. The man apparently fell in steep and inaccessible terrain. In mid-September, a hunter was hit and injured by a ricochet while hunting in the canton of Uri. The Rega flew the 38-year-old to the hospital.
