Man killed in an accident while pruning trees in the Verzasca Valley

A man died in a tree-cutting accident in Brione in the Verzasca Valley on Wednesday. According to the Ticino cantonal police, the 50-year-old fell around four meters.
The accident occurred shortly before midday on private property, the police wrote in a press release. The man was cutting a tree with a chainsaw in a slightly elevated area when he was hit by parts of the tree and fell four meters.
Despite resuscitation attempts, the Rega rescuers were only able to determine that the man had died.
