Almost half of employees do not have a salary discussion in their company. This is shown by a recent survey. In addition, significantly more men expect a pay rise than women. Models such as reduced working hours with the same salary instead of a pay rise are becoming increasingly popular.

This was announced by the employee organization Angestellte Schweiz on Thursday. It commissioned the survey from the Demoscope Institute. It is "a worrying fact" that 54% of the women surveyed do not expect a pay rise in 2025, while the figure for men is significantly lower at 37%.

The survey also shows that many employees would still like a traditional pay rise - but around a quarter would prefer a reduction in working hours with the same salary. A fifth can imagine a mix of both options. Women, higher earners and younger employees in particular are open to such models.

The survey was conducted among 1004 people between September 13 and 20.
