Missing 73-year-old man found dead in Lower Valais

The body of a 73-year-old man was found last Thursday in the Derborence region of Lower Valais. The Swiss man had been missing since the end of November last year.
The Valais cantonal police were informed last Thursday by a third party that a body had been found near the hamlet of Tsamperon, as reported on Monday. They went to the site with an Air-Glaciers helicopter. After the initial investigation on site, the remains were recovered and then identified.
The cantonal police were notified of the person's disappearance on November 28, 2023. Extensive technical investigations and searches in the area were unsuccessful at the time.
