The Swiss Federal Railways (SBB) have implemented more of their own trains from Germany to Switzerland in order to minimise the transfer of delays from the German network to the Swiss network. This measure affects 8 out of 22 daily connections between the two countries via Basel, according to an SBB spokesperson. All night trains in both directions are unaffected, as are some individual connections from Frankfurt, Karlsruhe, Hamburg, Frankfurt and Berlin to Switzerland. The situation has been exacerbated recently due to a truck damaging a bridge in Frankfurt in mid-July, resulting in limited or no access to the main railway station in Frankfurt. The Deutsche Bahn estimates that the repair work will take around two months.nnnn
