More than 2,200 people attended the fifth edition of the Swiss Cyber Security Days in Bern on Tuesday and Wednesday. Cybersecurity is a joint task for politics, education, research, business, authorities and civil society, the organizers concluded after the 100 or so presentations.
"It is our duty to raise public awareness and help make this issue more visible," said Director Nicolas Mayencourt, who is quoted in the press release. Cybercrime has exploded in recent years. In 2022, it caused damage that was many times higher than the damage caused by natural disasters.
As part of the Swiss Cyber Security Days, a scientific analysis of Swiss cyberspace was also presented, taking into account all ICT infrastructures connected to the public internet. The result: over 2.5 million vulnerabilities were identified.
The next edition of the Swiss Cyber Security Days will take place again in Bern on February 18 and 19, 2025.
