Monika Rüegger (SVP) has been re-elected by the Obwalden electorate. The 55-year-old politician won 8224 votes on election day, allowing her to remain in parliament for another term. Her opponent, 26-year-old Nico Fankhauser of the FDP, received 7487 votes. Rüegger was first elected to the National Council in 2019. The turnout in Obwalden was 58.75%. Monika Rüegger has been re-elected to the National Council of Switzerland for a second term, winning 8224 votes against her opponent Nico Fankhauser's 7487. The election turnout in Obwalden was 58.75%.
