No Swiss fatalities or injuries in Flixbus accident

According to information from the German authorities, an Italian-Swiss national was on board the Flixbus vehicle involved in the accident. However, she was not among the injured. There were also no Swiss nationals among the fatalities.

The Federal Department of Foreign Affairs (FDFA) announced on Thursday that no further details can be provided for reasons of data and privacy protection.

On Thursday morning, the German authorities had not yet provided any information on the state of health of the injured. The police in the federal state of Saxony last reported four fatalities, six seriously injured and 29 people with minor injuries.

The double-decker Flixbus left the A9 highway at around 9.45 a.m. on Wednesday morning on its way from the German capital Berlin to Zurich, ran over the grass verge and tipped onto its side.
