Novartis is increasing the payroll for permanent employees in Switzerland by an average of 2.4 percent as of March 1. This applies to employees who have a salary that is 80 to 120 percent of what is paid on "external markets".
Employees with a salary that is higher than 120 percent compared to external markets will not receive an increase, as Novartis announced in a press release on Wednesday. This was agreed by the pharmaceutical company in salary negotiations with the internal staff representatives (IPV).
"The budget for salary adjustments as part of the year-end salary cycle aims to maintain purchasing power and reflect the overall positioning of salaries compared to external markets," the statement continued. Individual salary adjustments during the year will be granted if necessary in addition to this agreed salary increase.
Participation in the company's success is separate, it said. It is paid as a bonus based on individual performance and personal conduct.
