One seriously injured in a snow groomer crash in Vaud

The 35-year-old driver of a snow groomer was seriously injured in an accident in the Glacier 3000 ski area in Les Diablerets VD on Monday. His vehicle plunged around 400 meters down a slope.
The accident occurred at around 08:35 on Monday when the man wanted to drive the snow groomer back to the mountain station. Before entering the shelter, the vehicle tipped to one side for as yet unexplained reasons and tumbled down a slope, according to the Vaud cantonal police. The vehicle came to a halt 400 meters further down the valley, badly damaged.
The rescue team at the mountain station, assisted by members of the rescue team, came to the aid of the driver, who had been thrown from the cabin of the snow groomer. The 35-year-old Swiss national, who lives in the region, was seriously injured and flown by helicopter to the Chuv University Hospital in Lausanne. His life was in danger.
The public prosecutor in charge launched an investigation to determine the exact circumstances of the accident.
