Passenger in boat accident on Lake Maggiore dies

A 76-year-old woman who was seriously injured in a boating accident on Lake Maggiore at the end of April has since died. The Ticino cantonal police did not provide any information on the cause of the accident.
The woman was a resident of German-speaking Switzerland, the Ticino cantonal police announced on Monday.
The accident occurred on April 24. According to the police, two boats collided around 300 meters from the mouth of the river. One boat was heading towards Porto Ronco, while the other was coming from Gambarogno.
The 80-year-old boat driver and a second 75-year-old passenger were also seriously injured in the accident. According to the information provided, both also live in German-speaking Switzerland. The driver of the second boat was uninjured.
