Pedestrian hit and killed by car in Frutigen BE

A 19-year-old Swiss woman was hit by a car in Frutigen BE on Sunday night and died as a result. Another pedestrian was also hit and taken to hospital with injuries, as reported by the Bern cantonal police on Sunday.
The collision was reported to the cantonal police at around 4 a.m. on Sunday morning. After the collision, one of the pedestrians was found dead by the police in a parking lot, the police reported.
Until the emergency services arrived immediately, third parties provided first aid to the surviving injured woman. She was subsequently taken to hospital by an ambulance team.
The car drove on without stopping. The driver was subsequently stopped and taken to a police station for further investigation. The police are looking for witnesses to the accident.
