Person arrested on suspicion of terrorism in Basel

Early Tuesday morning, a man was arrested in Basel on suspicion of terrorism by a large police force. The Office of the Attorney General of Switzerland confirmed a corresponding report by "20 Minuten" to the Keystone-SDA news agency.
The arrested man is a 45-year-old man with North Macedonian citizenship, according to the spokeswoman for the Office of the Attorney General of Switzerland. He is accused of supporting or participating in a terrorist organization.
The accused person was stopped during the operation and brought in for questioning by the police, the statement continues. As the proceedings are ongoing, no further details can be given at present. The presumption of innocence applies.
