President Biden Thanks Switzerland for Its Assistance

President Joe Biden thanked Switzerland and the governments of other countries involved in the prisoner exchange with Iran on Monday. The countries included Qatar, Oman, South Korea, and Switzerland, who worked tirelessly alongside the Americans to reach the agreement. Five innocent Americans who had been held in Iran were finally able to return home after years of fear, uncertainty, and suffering, and will soon be reunited with their loved ones. Biden expressed his gratitude to the Emir of Qatar and the Sultan of Oman for their help in negotiating the deal. He also stated that reuniting illegally detained Americans with their families has been a priority of his administration since day one, and that he has already brought home dozens of his countrymen. The prisoner exchange is accompanied by the transfer of 6 billion dollars in Iranian funds to a special account in Qatar, a key point in the negotiations.
