A former junior football coach was sentenced on Friday by the Neuchâtel cantonal court to 34 months' imprisonment, one year of which was unconditional. The lawyer was convicted of sexual acts with minors, among other things.
The sentence was increased in the judgment of the appeal proceedings. The defendant had carried out numerous criminal acts with several victims, said court president Emmanuel Piaget. For the judge, the accused was a denier who was unaware of the consequences of his actions.
The sentence includes a lifelong ban on working with minors and an order to continue psychiatric treatment. In addition to the sexual acts with minors, the defendant was also found guilty of coercion, sexual assault and bodily harm.
In the first instance, the man was sentenced to 22 months in prison, suspended for three years.
