In Valais, a parliamentary commission of inquiry (PUK) is to investigate the delays in the implementation of work on the Sierre-Chippis Rhone correction. All parliamentary groups in the Valais Grand Council are calling for this.
They will submit two identical resolutions at the start of the session on Tuesday, demanding the establishment of a PUK, as they announced on Monday.
The signatories from the center, the FDP, the SVP, the SP and the Greens believe that it is important to understand why the measure in Sierre-Chippis, which was classified as a priority, was never implemented. The aim is to meet a "need for transparency" and to clarify responsibilities.
Among other things, the PUK is to investigate the question of which actors contributed to this delay. It will also clarify whether there was an institutional failure.
The resolutions will be submitted on Tuesday. However, the discussion on the creation of a PUK will not be held in the Grand Council until mid-October as part of a special session on the storms.
