The salary for the CEO of Raiffeisen Switzerland in 2023 was the same as in the previous year. CEO Heinz Huber received gross total remuneration of 1.476 million francs, with the variable component amounting to a good 158,000 francs. Together with expenses and pension benefits, Huber received 1.87 million after 1.96 million in the previous year.
The gross remuneration of all members of the Executive Board still amounted to 8.29 million, compared to 8.46 million in the previous year, according to the annual report published on Friday. However, the remuneration of the Head of Internal Audit will no longer be reported as part of the Executive Board remuneration from 2023.
Remuneration on the Board of Directors also remained identical. Thomas Müller, Chairman of the Board of Directors since the end of 2021, received CHF 700,000, while Vice Chairman Pascal Gantenbein received basic remuneration of CHF 140,000 and committee remuneration of CHF 80,000. As in the previous year, a total of CHF 2 million was paid out to the Board of Directors.
This means that the Raiffeisen Group remunerates its CEO more cautiously than, for example, Zürcher Kantonalbank, which is comparable in terms of profit. ZKB CEO Urs Baumann received total compensation of CHF 2.85 million for 2023.
This is roughly the amount that the equally systemically important Postfinance spent on its entire management. Hansruedi Köng received a good CHF 800,000 for his last year as head of Postfinance.
Sergio Ermotti towers above all bank bosses. Following his return to the big bank UBS, he received a full CHF 14.4 million for the nine months of 2023.
