Rail traffic was affected on Sunday morning in eastern Switzerland due to the onset of winter: Traffic was restricted at Rorschach SG station due to a catenary fault and there were no trains running between Kreuzlingen TG and Constance.
According to SBB, the St. Margrethen SG-Munich route was also restricted. According to Deutsche Bahn, the disruptions to rail services in southern Germany will continue until at least Monday.
According to SBB, rail traffic between Schaffhausen and Singen in Germany was also disrupted on Sunday morning. The reason for this was a fallen tree and the disruption was expected to last until late afternoon.
The snow is unlikely to disappear that quickly in some places: The SRF Meteo weather service reported temperatures of -21.1 degrees in Samedan GR, -20.6 degrees in La Brévine NE and -15 degrees in Arosa GR shortly after 6.00 a.m. on Sunday morning. The weather service measured -10.3 degrees in Zurich-Kloten and -5.4 degrees in St. Gallen.
