The railroad line to Grindelwald BE, which was closed after a storm, will be open again from Friday. The line between Zweilütschinen and Grindelwald was buried on Monday evening. Damage was caused to the track and infrastructure.

Over the past few days, the flooded track had to be cleaned and the ballast in the track bed that had been washed away had to be replaced, as Jungfrau Railways announced on Thursday. The foundations of the Staldenbach bridge were also stabilized.

Not only the railroad line, but also the cantonal road in Grindelwaldtal was buried by the storm. The debris was up to four meters high in places. The road was fully passable again from Tuesday with alternating traffic routing at the buried area and from Wednesday.
